HOW CAN AN LDA HELP YOU?

A registered and bonded legal document assistant ( LDA ) may assist a self - represented person with completing standardized forms from the State of California, local and county courts and governmental agencies.

An LDA, however, cannot choose the forms for you or offer legal advice.  Also, an LDA cannot appear in court, sign papers on your behalf, or represent you in the way a lawyer can.

If you need help on how to properly fill out or file forms an LDA may be of assistance.  An LDA can also help in explaining the court or agency's procedures and processes.
